Handmade paper-mâché sculpture

Strange, tender things
made by hand.

Original sculpture and photography by Pittsburgh artist Rachael DiRenna. Tree spirits, moonlit figures, and one-of-a-kind work shaped by folklore, nature, and a long-running studio practice.

    The artist

A studio practice built over years, one strange little thing at a time.

    Rachael DiRenna

Self-taught Pittsburgh artist working primarily in paper mâché.

Rachael’s expressive, myth-inspired forms explore nature, folklore, and the transformative power of humble materials. The work begins with paper, wire, and found forms, then grows through layering, texture, and paint into characters with their own quiet presence.

Alongside sculpture, Rachael photographs Pittsburgh and creates images and objects that carry the feeling of a place, a story, or a small piece of wonder home.
